Awaken Your Body: Camelia Oberoi’s 8-Minute Yoga Detox for Lymphatic Drainage

Camelia Oberoi

In her latest Instagram post, wellness creator Camelia Oberoi invites followers to start their morning with what she calls “gentle movements to wake up your lymphatic system.” The short but purposeful flow is designed to boost circulation, reduce puffiness, and leave the body feeling lighter and more energized—a ritual that blends ancient yogic wisdom with modern self-care.

Shot in her signature serene aesthetic, Camelia Oberoi moves through an eight-minute sequence that anyone can practice at home:

  1. Bouncing – 30 seconds
Light, springy hops that create a subtle vibration through the whole body. This rhythmic motion stimulates lymph flow, helping fluids circulate and flushing out the heaviness that can collect overnight.

  2. Diaphragmatic Breathing – 1 minute
Deep belly breathing encourages the diaphragm to act like a pump, drawing lymph upward and calming the nervous system. It’s a mindful way to oxygenate the body while setting an intentional pace for the day.

  3. Forward Neck Stretch – 30 seconds
By gently lengthening the back of the neck, this move targets the cluster of lymph nodes along the cervical spine. It releases tension from hours of sleep and promotes drainage around the face and throat.

  4. Side Neck Stretch – 30 seconds each side
Tilting the head to each side opens the channels along the jaw and collarbone. This helps reduce morning puffiness, especially around the cheeks and eyes, while easing stiffness from pillows or screens.

  5. Cat–Cow – 30 seconds
Alternating between arching and rounding the spine massages internal organs and boosts spinal fluid movement. The gentle flexion also relieves lower-back tightness and energizes the whole torso.

  6. Thread the Needle – 30 seconds each side
A slow twist that wrings out the mid-back and shoulders, increasing circulation through the chest and upper lymph nodes. It doubles as a heart-opening stretch, releasing stored stress.

  7. Bridge Pose – 1 minute
Lifting the hips above the heart reverses gravity’s pull, aiding lymphatic return from the legs. It strengthens the glutes and opens the chest, creating both stability and a gentle inversion effect.

  8. Legs on the Wall – 3 minutes
The ultimate restorative posture: simply rest with legs elevated to let gravity drain excess fluid from the feet and ankles. It soothes the nervous system and leaves the body refreshed, as if you’ve taken a mid-day spa break.

For those who wake up feeling puffy or sluggish, Camelia Oberoi’s routine is an elegant reminder that wellness doesn’t need an hour-long class or special equipment. Eight mindful minutes can shift the entire day’s energy, proving that self-care can be both accessible and transformative.
